The subject of this original oil painting is the Old Coast Guard House on Peanut Island, Florida. I visited Peanut Island, which is now a Palm Beach County park, and the former station in January of 2007. The opening of the Palm Beach Maritime Museum in 1999, after 6 years of preliminary work, was a major event for South Florida.
