Artist's Notes
(Wildlife Oil Paintings, American Wildlife, Original Oil Painting )
The subject of this original oil painting is the domestic duck. Domesticated ducks are ducks that are raised for meat, eggs and down. Many ducks are also kept for show, as pets or for their ornamental value. Almost all of the varieties of domesticated ducks are descended from the Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), apart from the Muscovy Duck.
The name of the oil painting is "Sun Duck" not because there is a sub-species thus named, but only in reference to the lighting effect.
Available as a Giclee on Canvas.
