Artist's Notes
(Bird Painting, Oil on Canvas Bird Paintings, Florida's Great Egret)
This oil painting's primary focus is Florida's Great Egret. The Great Egret (Ardea alba), also known as the Great White Egret or Common Egret or (now not in use) Great White Heron, is a large, widely-distributed egret.
It is sometimes confused with the Great White Heron in Florida, which is a white morph of the closely related Great Blue Heron.
From an artist's perspective, the painting's composition emphases precision of line, color and form in the foreground, while distorting line and form in the background. The dimensional imbalance produces a remarkable depth to the oil painting
