The subject of this original oil painting is the Florida Crocodile. A big, ugly, and an all together scary creature, the Florida Crocodile is an amazing reptile, having survived almost unchanged since the time of the dinosaurs. The American Crocodile is found only in the southeastern part of the United States with the highest populations found in Florida and Louisiana.

 

Plein air painting this creature is a snap, once one is found. They will sit for hours sunning themselves or waiting for a meal. The oil painting for sale above features two adults Crocodiles displaying their impressive mouthful of teeth.
